Without these Intermediate Certificates being either installed on their device(s) or exchanged with the end-user via the SSL Handshake, the connection on such devices can be deemed \u201cUntrusted\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>To combat such issues as highlighted above, web masters are encouraged to install the Intermediate Certificates provided by the Certificate Authority during the SSL Installation process on the servers they wish to have connections handled.<\/p>\n<p>Seems simple right? Well there\u2019s issue that can occur however, which is that Certificate Authorities often require multiple Intermediate Certificates to be installed but the server might only have the ability to support one Intermediate Certificate entry. To combat this, the web master would need to \u201c<strong>combine<\/strong>\u201d the Intermediates provided into one single \u201c.CRT\u201d often referred to as the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/ssl-install\/ca-bundle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CABundle<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>What You\u2019ll Need<\/h2>\n<h3>1. Your certificate files<\/h3>\n<p>Depending upon the Certificate Authority the Intermediates delivered can be different than what is showcased below, but the application should be similar if not the same if you have purchased from <strong>Comodo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Within the \u201c.zip\u201d download provided by the Certificate Authority, you will find a list of all the files necessary to install the SSL Certificate minus the Private Key. Open the 1st Intermediate File<\/h3>\n<p>Right click the COMODORSADomainValidaitonSecureServerCA.crt and elect to open this certificate with a Word Processor application (i.e. Notepad \/ Text Editor) so that your editor appears similar to the screenshot below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2673\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/2-1024x618.png\" alt=\"1st Intermediate File\" width=\"643\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/2-1024x618.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/2-300x181.png 300w, https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/2-768x464.png 768w, https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/2-50x30.png 50w, https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/2-60x36.png 60w, https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/2-35x21.png 35w, https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/2.png 1214w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 643px) 100vw, 643px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the end of the document <strong>insert a line break<\/strong> by pressing \u201cEnter.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>2. Open the 2nd Intermediate File and Copy\/Paste<\/h3>\n<p>Open the ComodoRSAAddTrustCA.crt in a manner similar to above. Save as One File<\/h3>\n<p>If everything appears similar to the above example, proceed to save this file with a name that is\u00a0 easily identifiable such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.domain.com.CABundle.crt\">www.domain.com.CABundle.crt<\/a> so you can find this with ease during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/ssl-install\/\">installation process<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After completing the above, your team should have everything needed to perform the installation of the SSL Certificate purchased.
