If you already generated the CSR and received your trusted SSL certificate, reference our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesslstore.com\/knowledgebase\/ssl-install\/microsoft-exchange-2010-ssl-installation\/\">SSL Installation Instructions and disregard the steps below.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>1. Launch Exchange<\/h2>\n<p>Launch <strong>Microsoft Exchange 2010<\/strong> from your programs and select <strong>Exchange Management Console.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>2. Navigate to &#8220;New Exchange Certificate&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p>Select <strong>Manage Databases <\/strong>on the right hand side.<\/p>\n<p>Select <strong>Server Configurations<\/strong> in the left side menu.<\/p>\n<p>Select <strong>New Exchange Certificate<\/strong> in the right side menu.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Enter a Friendly Name<\/h2>\n<p>Enter a <strong>Friendly Name<\/strong> when prompted in the opened window.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Note:<\/em><\/strong><em> Please name the file something you can easily recognize in the future. This will only be an internal reference name and will not be part of your SSL certificate.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>4. Indicate if certificate is Wildcard<\/h2>\n<p>In the <strong>Domain Scope <\/strong>menu, select the check box <strong>ONLY<\/strong> if you are using a Wildcard Certificate (*.yourdomain.com) and if so, skip to Step 6. If not, proceed accordingly to the next screen\/step.<\/p>\n<h2>5. Specify Domain Names<\/h2>\n<p>In the <strong>Exchange<\/strong> <strong>Configuration<\/strong> menu, click the <strong>Service Options<\/strong> that you plan on securing and specify the <strong>Domain Name <\/strong>for each service.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Note:<\/em><\/strong><em> The next screen will suggest names for you. You can remove them if you like by right clicking on them.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>6. Enter in the\u00a0CSR Details<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Common Name (CN):<\/strong> The FQDN (fully-qualified domain name) you want to secure with the certificate such as www.google.com, secure.website.org, *.domain.net, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Organization Name (ON):<\/strong> The full legal name of your organization including the corporate identifier.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Organizational Unit (OU): <\/strong>Your department such as &#8216;Information Technology&#8217; or &#8220;Website Security.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Locality or City (L): <\/strong>The locality or city where your organization is legally incorporated. Do not abbreviate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>State or Province (S): <\/strong>The state or province where your organization is legally incorporated. Do not abbreviate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Country Name (C):<\/strong> The official two-letter country code (i.e. US, CH) where your organization is legally incorporated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>7. Save the CSR<\/h2>\n<p>Click <strong>Browse<\/strong> to specify the location where you want to save the CSR as a &#8220;.reg&#8221; file and click <strong>Save.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Enter a <strong>friendly name <\/strong>to distinguish the request in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Click <strong>Next, New, <\/strong>and then <strong>Finish.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>8. Generate the Order<\/h2>\n<p>Locate and open the newly created CSR from the specified location you choose in a text editor such as Notepad and copy all the text including:<\/p>\n<pre>-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----\r\nAnd\r\n-----END CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----<\/pre>\n<p>Return to the <strong>Generation Form<\/strong> on our website and paste the entire CSR into the blank text box and continue with completing the generation process.<\/p>\n<p>Upon generating your CSR, your order will enter the validation process with the issuing Certificate Authority (CA) and require the certificate requester to complete some form of validation depending on the certificate purchased.
