One of the requirements for Organization Validated  (OV) Code Signing Certificates from Sectigo is Identity Authentication. Here the CA will attempt to verify the identity of the individual applying for the certificate.

At this time, only Sectigo requires identity authentication for OV Code signing certificates.

What is Identity Authentication?

To satisfy the Identity Authentication requirement, the CA will need to make sure that you are who you say you are. That means verifying the personal identity of the applicant. The applicant’s identity can be proven by submitting a government-issued photo ID to Sectigo for review.

You may send in the following forms of Government-Issued ID:

• Passport
• Driver’s License
• Personal ID Card
• Military ID

Please open a ticket with Sectigo to submit your photo ID with your order number for validation.
