Updating the WHMCS Module

Introduction

The SSL Store™ is always working on expanding our WHMCS module with new features and bug fixes. It’s important to stay up-to-date so that you, and your end-users, have the best experience. If you are still working on getting the module installed, no worries, please reference our installation article, which will guide you through getting the module all installed.

  1. Prior to updating The SSL Store™ Module, you will need to proceed with disabling the already installed module.
    1. To disable The SSL Store™ Module, proceed to “Setup -> Addon Modules” and at the bottom, click the “Deactivate” button by “The SSL Store™ Module”.

Downloading the Module

  1. Once the module is disabled, you can proceed to download the latest module from the WHMCS Integration page at TheSSLStore.com
    1. Once you’ve downloaded the module, please proceed with unzipping the download and the contents so you have the “modules” folder unzipped.
  2. Now that you’ve successfully extracted the download, you will want to connect via FTP to your server.

Uploading the Module

Note: Uncertain which FTP Client to use? The SSL Store™ recommends FileZilla due to the compatibility across all operating systems.

  1. Once connected, proceed to the directory housing your WHMCS Installation.
  2. Within the directory listing, locate the “modules” folder and click into the folder so you see a list of folders, specifically the “addons” and “servers” folders.
  1. First proceed into the addons folder and copy the folder “thesslstorefullv2_admin” from the downloaded package so the files begin to upload.
    1. You will get a notice informing you that you will be overwriting the files, click “Continue and do not ask again.”
  2. Upon completion of the uploads, proceed back to the “modules” directory and then into the “servers” directory.
  3. Drag the folder “thesslstorefullv2” over so that the files begin uploading.
    1. You will get a notice informing you that you will be overwriting the files, click “Continue and do not ask again.”
  4. After completion of the upload, proceed to your WHMCS Admin Login page.

WHMCS Configuration

Note: The typical URL path for the Administrator interface is “/admin/”, but this could have been changed. Please ensure that you go to the proper URL as configured.

  1. At this point, you should proceed to log in to your WHMCS System using a login that has the role of “Full Administrator” so you can properly configure the module.
  2. Once logged in, proceed to the “Setup -> Addon Modules” page so you can continue to set up the module.
  3. At the bottom of that page, there will be an option of “The SSL Store™ Module” with the options of “Activate”, “Deactivate” and “Configure,” with the last two being disabled.

  1. At this point, you are now officially up to date and ready to keep selling SSL Certificates!
