Having a brand Indicators for message identification (BIMI) record doesn’t do you any good if it isn’t properly configured and set on your domain name system (DNS). This is why it’s crucial to check your BIMI records and logo after adding the required resources to your domain.
Ready to check BIMI to ensure you’re good to go to start displaying your logo in the email sender field? We’ve put together a list of the most useful and easy-to-use BIMI checker and generator tools to help you get started.

1. BIMI Inspector (BIMI Group)
This is the official tool from the AuthIndicators Working Group, which is a collaborative group of various email-related entities that oversee the standard. It serves a dual purpose of being able to perform a DNS record lookup and serving as a BIMI record generator tool.

It breaks down the relevant types of DNS records that may be present on the domain and whether they’re compliant with BIMI. But one of the best features of this tool is that it shows how your BIMI logo would display on a mobile device:

2. BIMI Checker (Valimail)
Our partners at Valimail have a great Domain Checker tool that tells you what you need to know: is DMARC set to enforcement and is your logo compliant? Flip between the BIMI Check and Authentication Status tabs to view additional information.
This tool enables you to see whether your domain’s BIMI record is properly configured for your domain. Like the previous BIMI inspector, it also enables you to see how your logo would display, but it ups the game by offering both light and dark mode display options:

3. BIMI DNS Lookup (Wombatmail)
Wombatmail’s DNS Lookup tool is a highly useful tool that breaks down the different BIMI DNS record components and explains what each means. It also gives a more in-depth look at your BIMI logo SVG file’s source code information, as shown in the following example:

What if you want to review other DNS records? This tool from spamresource.com also gives you the ability to do just that! Simply select the small dropdown menu at the top to switch to a different record set.
4. BIMI Record Lookup Tool (BIMI-Checker.org)
Unlike the previous BIMI checker tools we’ve covered, this tool from bimi-checker.org focuses a lot more on the logo and Mark Certificate than the BIMI records. So, in some ways, it’s more of a BIMI logo checker tool than one that focuses on the DNS records themselves (which can also come in handy).

Protect the integrity of your emails and display your brand’s logo in the sender field.
Something especially great about this checker tool is that it provides visual examples of how your logo would display in email clients on both a mobile device and a laptop. Furthermore, it even allows you to toggle dark mode on and off for additional custom preview options.

5. BIMI SuperTool Beta 9 (MxToolbox)
Right off the bat, the MxToolbox SuperTool gives you an example of how your BIMI logo would display in Gmail. As you scroll, you then can check BIMI record information, which is broken down by tag values.

Next to the domain search field at the top, there’s an orange button with a small arrow to the right side. This drop-down menu gives you the option to select from nearly three dozen other features.
We hope you’ve found this comparison useful as a way to check BIMI records and logos.
